The over 1000 meter high Table Mountain is the landmark of the city and definitely worth a visit. From its huge plateau, on which 9200 football pitches can be played, there is a magnificent view over the sea, the city and the country. If you want to be comfortable, you can take the cable car up the mountain in twelve minutes. But there are also many hiking trails that lead up to the mountain, but they all have it in them and one should plan approximately 5 hours 1⁄2 for a distance. The easiest among them is the 7 km long pipe track that starts near the Kloof-Nek roundabout. Tickets for the cable car should be bought online to avoid long queues.
